The Idolmaster is back in Platinum Stars, the first entry released on the PlayStation 4 along with the new features brought by new hardware: completely new character models, drastically improved facial expressions, dynamic camera work during concert scenes, and even active crowds of over 50,000!

For those unfamiliar with the series the game puts players in the role of a producer at the entertainment offices of "765 Production," who will guide 13 lucky girls on their quest to become top idols. The girls of 765 Production made their idol debuts, but aren't very popular - YET! The company president Junjirou Takagi has decided tha the best solution is to send the girls to a training camp where the player-controlled producer will live alongside the idols while strengthening his bonds with them through the power of rhythm minigames and leading them to their ultimate goal: to reach the biggest concert stage, the 'Extreme Live.'

Players will first pick one of the 13 available idols to produce and focus their training efforts on. Players will be able to connect with each girl one by one on their unique journey filled with various events. Once their idols are ready players will be able to plan a concert, where they control everything from the appearing members, to their outfits, and the songs they sing. Players' performance during the rhythm minigames will effect the results of auditions and concerts.
